The Pharaohs hope to repeat the victory over Morocco led by Salah tomorrow

On this day, January 29, 2017, the Egyptian team defeated its Moroccan counterpart, with a goal without a response, scored by Mahmoud Abdel Moneim Kahraba, in the quarter-final match of the 2017 African Nations Cup hosted by Gabon, to cross to the semi-finals of the continental championship, which won its title on seven occasions, and meets and overcomes the Burkina Faso team  On penalties, he lost in the final to Cameroon by two goals to one

 Mahmoud Abdel-Moneim “Kahraba”, Al-Ahly’s loaned star in the Turkish league, led Egypt to victory over Morocco, after he scored the game’s only goal three minutes before the end of the second half, after he replaced left-back Karim Hafez in that match under the technical leadership of Argentine Hector Cuper, coach of the national team  the former. 

 With this victory, the Egyptian team broke a knot that lasted 31 years, as the Pharaohs did not succeed in beating the Moroccans in the African Cup since 1986, so that this achievement would be historical by all standards for the Pharaohs, and the silence mixed with grief and sadness fell on the Moroccan fans who were stationed in the cafes to follow the interview of the Atlantic Lions.  Against the Pharaohs, who stunned the Moroccans with a deadly goal in the last minutes with the goal of player Mahmoud Kahraba, ending the adventure of the comrades of Mehdi Benatia in the continental competition at the borders of the second round.

 

 The Pharaohs reached the final of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations before losing the title to Cameroon with two goals to one.

 

  The Egyptian team is preparing to face its Moroccan counterpart again at five in the afternoon tomorrow, Sunday, in the quarter-finals of the African Nations Cup, which is currently being held in Cameroon, in the hope of winning a ticket to qualify for the semi-finals of the continental championship.

 

 The last culmination of the Egyptian team was the African Cup of Nations title in 2010 in Angola, and for the third time in a row after 2006 in Egypt and 2008 in Ghana.

 

 The national team maintains the lion's share of records in the African Nations Championship throughout its history, by winning the title 7 times throughout the history of the tournament, at the forefront of the African teams that have achieved the most title, two championships ahead of its closest opponents, the Cameroon team, who won the championship 5 times, and the Pharaohs team is also considered  The only team that won the title 3 times in a row, starting with the tournament that was held in Egypt in 2006, then the version that was held in Ghana 2008, and ending with the tournament that was held in Angola 2010.
